2013 GROM PRIX

the grom prix went down for the second year on saturday the 14th, again proving to be one of the largest and most successful contests on the east coast, hosting over 170 shredders ages 7-14. Winners got to take home fresh j7 sticks, and there were radical prizes abound, making for some very stoked kids. the grommets put on a show in the waist high surf, and it is safe to say that the future of surfing in the northeast is safe and sound

after being sidelined by casts for the summer, i've maintained the role of filmer and have had the opportunity to capture some of the south shore's best at work. this clip of james mcgraghan is a masterpiece, and i plan to retire due to the generous amounts of money i have received from awards and donations given to the production of this edit

met garrett in the water over two years ago in RI and kept on seeing him on only the best of days shredding his brains out. finally got his name because we had some clips from hurricane irene two years ago which were insane. check it out and look for him in the water

don't call it nemo

For such a destructive and angry storm, nemo seemed far too fluffy of a name. i guess its better than blizzard 2013 though. dan, steve, and i were undergunned in the south shore on sunday. all photos by claire hassett.
